RecyclingATS recognises the part it can play in protecting the environment (both locally and nationally) and the issues governing climate change. Our policies ensure that we always looking for ways to reduce our impact on the environment yet still deliver the service our clients expect. Both our tree pruning and stump grinding operations generate a vast quantity of material, mainly in the form of woodchip. All of our waste produce is recycled, none is sent to landfill. We convert and reuse as much as possible in the form of firewood and biomass supplies for domestic fuel and heating, as well as woodchippings for use as garden mulch, paths and wildlife projects. Any excess bulk is shipped out to power stations. We operate 3 levels of recycling; •High End – by processing the higher quality green materials arriving at our depot (using biomass chippers and screeners to improve and blend materials) we have developed a highly successful brand, which is then sold as landscape supplies through our sister company, Earthscapes. •Medium End – other arisings are processed at our depot to create high standard landscaping chip or mulch. Its quality is such that it meets grounds maintenance, large landscaping projects and local authority contract specification. •Low End – ATS is one of the major suppliers of woodchip for the energy market. All remaining arisings, including woody materials and roots are chipped in high volume and transported to Slough Heat and Power to be incinerated to create electricity. |
